California Natural Color Begins Fresno Facility Expansion

The extension will increase the supplier's capacity to produce grape seed extract and natural color products by 300%.

California Natural Color, an ingredient supplier specializing in natural colors, grape juice concentrates, and grape seed extract, recently broke ground on the expansion of its headquarters and primary production facility in Fresno, California.

The additions will expand the company’s production capacity for both grape seed extract and natural color products by 300%, the company reported.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Fresno Mayor Jerry P. Dyer, several other local elected officials, and company leadership.

“We are proud to break ground on the expansion of California Natural Color’s site in Fresno, California,” said Jorge Ortiz, director of operations. “This new development is the result of hard work and collaboration, and it is our goal that the upgraded facility will enhance the company’s ability to better serve customers globally.”

“California Natural Color has been a trusted provider of natural color and ingredient solutions for the food, beverage, and nutraceutical sectors since 1994 and continues to grow and evolve along with the industry,” said Bill McMorran, vice president and general manager. “Currently, natural color is a major topic of conversation with regulatory tightening, retailer mandates, and growing awareness of ingredient sourcing, driving a strong shift away from artificial food colorings. With this upcoming expansion, we are well positioned to continue to meet rising market demand by increasing the production capabilities of our broad portfolio of naturally derived color and our innovative crystal technology.”
